Newmat supplied and installed 24 translucent recess membranes including 8 skylights.
Work began back in 2022 on the $7.5 million project, which saw a new wraparound balcony that opens up to other areas of the campus, skylights to bring in more natural light, reorienting seats for better viewing of services and enhancements to the building’s acoustics, lighting and air conditioning.
Newmat supplied and installed 24 translucent recess membranes including 8 translucent skylights totalling to 186m2. “With a growing and evolving community comes the need for expansion, improvement and modernisation,” says President Alex Lehrer.
President Lehrer also said the building’s restoration, refurbishment and reinvigoration “represents a critical milestone in our wider campus redevelopment strategy”.
Newmat Australia had the pleasure and enjoyed working with Belmadar and Kennedy Associate Architects to help create and deliver the concept Emanuel Synagogue desired.
