Newmat Australia recently completed the installation of multiple 4-metre diameter Circular ceiling lights at Cremorne Town Centre, part of a full refurbishment of the shopping centre on Sydney’s lower north shore. Working with high-end refurbishment and fit out specialist Williams Interiors, the light boxes now anchor the ceilings on both the Ground floor Retail area and the First floor Professional suites.

On the way to the supermarket, shoppers pass beneath a diagonal timber lattice where a Newmat Circular light box is suspended within the grid. Walking up the stairs, recessed into the ceiling are two more Circular light boxes, lighting up the stairwell and common area.
A New Chapter for a Local Landmark
Military Road, Cremorne has always known how to put on a show. The Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace has been lighting up the strip since 1935, and across the road Cremorne Town Centre has been a part of neighbourhood life since the 1980s. After four decades, the centre is back in the spotlight.

Newmat would like to thank Williams Interiors, Hames Sharley, and Electrolight for another great project. Photography by Simon Whitbread.
